A very special thank you to everyone who made this event truly the very Best Bash Ever!

Our friends Glen & Jamie, and Scotiabank, opened up their arms and doors on November 20, welcoming an enthusiastic crowd to the exclusive 63rd floor of the iconic Scotia Plaza. With definitely one of the best views in Toronto, BBE guests enjoyed an dazzling setting, some of the most fantastic flavours of the season, and got to play a role in improving the lives of at-risk youth in the GTA.

Culinary Explosion

food-200A highlight of the evening was the culinary wonders presented by Scotiabank’s Executive Chef Rolando Oreiro. He promised and delivered an imaginative array of food stations adorned with holiday fare from around the globe. Oreiro celebrated everything from pork lechon to prime rib roast, empanadas, cabbage rolls and cedar plank Atlantic Salmon…to highlight just a few items.

Live music was also on hand in the main room and holiday decor was warming everyone up to the season. It was indeed an evening of good cheer, friendly faces and inspiring philanthropy.

Fundraising Goals

glen-red-carpetOf course the focus of the evening was supporting The Peer Project and the great things we’re doing to help kids in the GTA. And the generous support from everyone who attended was more than we could have hoped for!

With more than 130 guests, we had an incredible start with ticket sales and general donations. During the event we raffled off a limited number of Mystery Gift Boxes and had a great response to our Gift of Mentorship donations.

Our fundraising goal for the event was $25,000,charlie-front-desk which we thought was pretty good for a first-off event. By the end of the night, however, our supporters and friends drove that amount up to a fantastic $27,590. Scotiabank, who were already generous in their donation of the space, topped this amount off with a very kind matching gift of $5,000.

A very warm thanks to our event sponsors, who included Borden Ladner Gervais, Raywall Cabinets, Tangerine and Ron Reaman Bosley Real Estate.

We’ve posted a selection of great pics from the event in our gallery, and please check out our Facebook event page for the full roster of photos.

jamie-red-carpetThanks again to all who helped and supported! We can’t wait to see what happens in 2015!
